Catering Structured Exposure to Higher Education in the Neighbourhood

INTRODUCTION

School students after graduating their secondary and higher secondary examinations often find themselves facing a deluge of choices. They are unable to decide on various career options, which would be in sync with their aptitude, educational qualifications and priorities. Many of these students are unable to decide for the simple reason that they do not have either requisite information or scope for exposure to do the same. Not being aware of their own aptitude, interest, and skills, they usually tend to follow the streams that may be prevalent or popular, under pressure from their parents, guardians, or peer group. The misplaced career choices made in the beginning of their life often see a good number of them ending up dissatisfied and often as an outright failure in their chosen career.

Against this background, Panchakot Mahavidyalaya feels the need for a structured exposure to Higher Education of this students and leaps to help them, at least in its neighborhood, for the students of Secondary and Higher Secondary classes. A constructive interface between the School Education and Higher Education is proposed to provide handholding support to the secondary and higher secondary students regarding various issues relating their education and future studies.

It may also help in utilizing the available infrastructure including manpower in the eco-system optimally. The two-way engagement and partnership will prove beneficial to both the parties, i.e., the College and the School.
